Lately, even though I love coffee in the morning, I have not wanted coffee in the afternoon because I would much rather have a creamy matcha latte.
In addition, I have found the secret to making frothy vegan lattes, and I am going to share this simple method with you! This matcha latte is made with plant-based milk!
When I make lattes, my favorite method of frothing the plant-based milk to create the extra creamy latte is to blend the non-dairy milk with a tiny bit of nut or seed butter and the other ingredients in a high-speed blender. The combination of the plant-based milk with the nut or seed butter makes a creamy, smooth, thick, frothy latte that is absolutely heavenly to drink.
Why should you add the optional powders?
Matcha tea is naturally a great energy boost without the caffeine, and even though making the matcha latte with only the milk, almond butter, and matcha powder is totally fine and would still taste wonderful, the optional super food powders add an even higher detox, hormone balancing, vitamin source, and energy boost from Vitamin B12.
Chlorella powder is a blue-green, freshwater algae that acts as a binding agent for heavy metals like lead and mercury, and because the strong taste hides well in green tea, I like to add just a little to my matcha lattes. Chlorella is also high in protein, vitamin B2, iron, zinc, and vitamin A.
Maca powder is a supplement that is known for its hormone balancing properties, and the caramel, vanilla flavor blends wonderfully with the matcha tea. Maca is also categorized as an adaptogen because it helps the body adapt to stress.
Ashitaba powder is another green powder that boosts the immune system, possesses high levels of vitamin B12, increases metabolism, and helps to detox the bloodstream, and because it is another green powder, it hides well in a matcha latte!
Look at this gorgeous green!
